Frequently asked questions for the service:
Q1. What are the new Internet Dial-Up Services ?

A1. There are two internet dial-up services, each available with no monthly subscription charge.

The Basic service provides only access to the internet via a 360-9999 access number. The STC rate for this service is SR 0.0375 per minute. The user will need an internet card or subscription from an Internet Service Provider to use the internet with this service.

EasyNet service provides both, access and internet usage via a 366-0100 access number. The all inclusive rate for this service is SR 0.05 per minute, billed to the user's telephone bill. In this case, the user does not need an internet card or subscription from an Internet Service Provider to use the internet.

Q2. What about the Internet Discount Plan where a user receives a 25% discount on internet calls by paying a monthly subscription of SR 10 ?

A2. The Internet Discount Plan will be cancelled on 1 Dhul Qadah 1425H (13 December 2004G). With the new Basic internet-dial up plan, the user will be able to get the old Internet Discount Plan access rate of SR 0.0375 per minute without having to pay the SR 10 monthly subscription.

Q3. Who can subscribe to the AL Hatif and Internet plans ?

A3. The AL Hatif Plans and Internet Plans are available to all regular Residence and Business (including Government) customers. HATIF 30 will apply to Public Telephones (national/mobile calls from pay phones, smartcard phones, call cabines and prepaid calling cards), as well as to national/mobile calls from DOD trunks and Independent Company trunks. In the case of internet calls, if access to both Internet services( 360 and EasyNet (366) calls is permitted, all of these lines will be able to make such calls and should be billed at the appropriate calling tariff for 360 calls (0.0375 SR per minute or fraction) of for 366 calls (0.05 SR per minute or fraction).

Q4. How does a customer subscribe to the Internet Basic and EasyNet services ?

A4. In the case of Internet Dial-up, there is no subscription to the Basic service or to EasyNet. However, access to EasyNet (366-0100) will only be available to customers with internet access on their line. A customer will need to call 907 to permit his line with internet access (360 or 366 access). If a customer calls 360-9999, he will be using and will be charged for the Basic internet dial-up service and if he calls 366-0100 he will be using and will be charged for EasyNet calls at the appropriate tariff for each type of internet call.

Q5. If a customer selects HATIF 30, can they have either the Internet Basic service or Internet EasyNet service or are they restricted to having only Internet Basic service?

A5. The AL Hatif plans and Internet Dial-up plans are independent of each other. Thus, if a customer has HATIF 30, he can use either of the Internet Dial-Up services and vice versa. Similarly, if a customer subscribes to HATIF 45, he can use either one of the Internet dial-up services and vice versa.

Q6. How will the Internet Basic service and Easynet service data appear on the billing statement? How will the data appear should a customer use both services for a period of time during the same billing period?

A6. Call data (minutes and charges) for internet Basic service (360-9999) will show as one line on the bill and call data (minutes and charges) for internet EasyNet service (366-0100) will show as another line on a customer's bill. In a bill period, a customer can call both, 360 and 366 numbers. Hence, 360 charges and 366 charges will show as separate lines on his bill.

Q7. If a customer has Internet Basic service, are calls to Easynet (366-0100) blocked? If the calls are not blocked, will the Internet calls to 360-0100 and 366-0100 be shown separately?

A7. A customer will have to call 907 to open 360 or 366 access on his line. If a customer has 360-9999 access he will also have EasyNet 366-0100 access and vice versa. Calls to internet 360 and EasyNet 366 will be shown separately, each one on a different line on the bill.

Q8. Can a customer have 360-9999 access but not 366-0100 access ?

A8. A customer can choose to not have internet access at all. However, if a customer chooses to have internet access, he will have both Basic Internet 360-9999 access, and EasyNet 366-0100 access. It is not possible to have only 360-9999 access without having 366-0100 access or vice versa.

Q9. If a customer has two or more services under one account, can they have a different combination of AL Hatif and Internet plans for each service?

A9. Yes, the AL Hatif and Internet plans apply to a given line rather than a given account. Thus, if a customer has more than one line on an account, he will be able to have different AL Hatif plans on each line. Each line will also have its own access permission for access to 360 and 366 calls.

Q10. Are the AL Hatif and Internet plans available to customers who operate independent switches, such as Aramco and to DOD customers ?

A10. Only HATIF 30 applies to national and mobile calls from Independent Company switches and DOD trunks since the monthly subscription for these lines includes local calls based on the rates for HATIF 30. In the case of internet calls, depending on whether the Independent Company trunk or DOD trunk accesses a 360 or 366 number, the internet dial-up charges for internet calls will be different (either SR 0.0375 or SR 0.05 per minute or fraction of a minute respectively).

Q11. How will calls from GSM to Landline be charged?

A11. Calls from GSM to landline have a single charging plan – they will be charged at SR 0.40 per minute, billed on a per second basis, at all times. Calls from GSM to Basic Internet service (360-9999) are charged at the calling rate of the GSM tariff plan applicable to the customer. Access from Mobile to EasyNet (366-0100) will be blocked at this time

Q12. Which Internet Dial-up service is better for me ?

A12. The Basic internet dial-up service only provides telephone access to your Internet Service Provider at the rate of SR 0.0375 per minute, and requires you to also get an internet card or subscription from your Internet Service Provider.
